Saturday, June 16th - 8pm til - Comfort Inn Beach South Nags Head - No Cover!
It’s that casual demeanor that has endeared Scotty to fans around the globe: those drawn to his lack of pretense, his ear for a solid beat, and his respect for melding old school tradition with the cutting-edge. Scotty quickly found his profile rising; from novice, self-trained DJ to resident DJ at XL, Limelight, Avalon and Spirit in NYC. Soon thereafter residencies came along in D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Brazil and Argentina. Most recently, Scotty has added more “super clubs” to his list including Krave Las Vegas, Unity Montreal and Fly Toronto. He’s also become a resident with BBCM, the organizing association behind Montreal’s Black and Blue Festival. 2010 saw Scotty rise even further as he expanded his reach across Europe, secured more residencies in South America and headlined White Party Palm Springs, White Party Miami and Black and Blue Montreal...three of the biggest circuit parties in the world.
“…In my profiling of most DJs currently on the scene, none impressed me more with their driven intensity than DJ Scotty Thomson…..a degree and control for moving the dance floor into a manic frenzy. There’s a powerfully engaging sense to Thomson’s work at the turntables - it’s not giddy and predictable; it’s more nostalgic and energetic to athletic proportions. "I’m very passionate about what I’m playing," he adds, "and I want people to know that if there are turntables in the booth, I will play vinyl and I will bring my own sampler. I’m working as hard as I can to create something more with my music. Nothing feels better than when someone says that my set was really great because it was really different."

“I’m not afraid to take risks,” explains Scott. He differentiates himself from other DJs both in approach mixing on the fly, layering tracks on top of one another. In content: he refuses to constrain himself to strict boundaries, he refuses to give the circuit crowd more of the same. Old Skool is back and Scotty Thomson will be delivering on the Outer Banks Summer 2012!
